MOVIE REVIEW – THE WOMEN IN THE WINDOW

Disclaimer :- This review is based on my personal opinion.

The women in the window

IMDb – 5.8/10
Release date – 14 May 2021
Director – Joe wright
Starring – Amy Adams, Gary Oldman, Anthony Mackie, Fred Hechinger, Wyatt Russell, Brian Tyree Henry, Jennifer Jason Leigh and Julianne Moore.

Synopsis – Dr Anna fox a child psychologist, lives alone in her apartment battling agoraphobia. Due to her mundane lifestyle, she engages herself in watching her neighbours and their lifestyle activities through her window. The story takes a turn when she becomes the sole witness of her neighbour’s murder.

Review – The woman in the window is an average movie that doesn’t live up to the expectations. Some parts can be a little bit boring. The movie only focuses on agoraphobic women who try to solve a murder mystery of their neighbour. Somehow acting by main lead (Dr Anna fox )played by Amy Adams is good and well portrayed. It gets harder to get drawn in with other characters as the premise of the movie is not promising. You can also find the story a tad impractical and stretched out too far.

Movie alternative – Rear Window released in 1945 .

Positive aspects:-

1) Performance by Amy Adams is strong .

2) It can be unpredictable for some.

3) It is suspenseful to watch .

Negative aspects :-
1) It doesn’t present something new or promising.
2) It is bit slow to watch.
3) It is less captivating
4) weak characters

Final verdict:-
Do not watch this movie if you are looking for something new or an exhilarating psychological thriller as it’s a normal movie to watch.
